Recording of on farm deaths
Online
Keepers can record on farm deaths online, please see the how to guide
There is no administration intervention required when this option is chosen.
By Phone
Keepers can phone in to ScotEID to record their on farm deaths. The Help team use the same Record Death web page but with the addition of a notification date entry.
By Post
Keepers can record their on farm deaths by returning the passport within 7 days to ScotEID. These returned passports are scanned onto the Action Queue and the death is recorded by the Help team. The notification date used is the date received at ScotEID and the date of death used is found written on the passport by the keeper prior to posting.
The passports of all animals that die on farm must be returned
All returned passports are scanned on to the Action Queue. When an animals death has already been recorded, automated processing places these passports in the ‘Already dead’ category and no admin intervention is required.
Where the automated processing shows the animal is not dead, an action is created in the ‘New’ queue. This is then processed by the Help Team. Please find information on the wiki for Action Queue Processing.
