Uploading an EID file of sheep reads

The upload files must be a text/.txt or .csv file (not excel/.xls).

To upload a file go to the Upload EID data page click on the browse button, select your file and then click the submit button. A message like this appears:

Import Success: your-file-1.txt 137 records imported. Please go to the incomplete groups page to complete the lot data

The animal IDs within a file are recorded as 'incomplete groups' until the associated movement information has been completed. You are automatically redirected to the "Incomplete Groups" page after ~3 seconds.

Most common types of EID file are supported. If you have problems please make sure the text is being saved in ANSI format and you haven't added any extra text to the file. If you still have problems contact support@scoteid.com.

This page displays all the groups which have been imported from the files you have uploaded. The groups stay here until you either delete or complete them. The groups are created out of your upload file by looking for lot separators or breaks of more than 15mins (if the file contains timestamps).

Groups can be merged or deleted by clicking the check boxes, selecting merge/delete from the option box at the bottom of the page and then clicking submit. Individual reads can be deleted or split from each group by clicking on the blue "View Reads" link.

Once you are happy with the group it can be completed by clicking on the complete button and filling out the "complete group" page.

The view reads page shows a list of the tag reads for each group and allows individual reads to be deleted or split from the group. In order to save time when you click on a check box all of the following check boxes are automatically ticked. If this behaviour is not desired then there is a check box at the top of the page to allow the selection of individual tags.

The tags can be ordered by ID, timestamp, last read location or last destination location by clicking the appropriate column header. Once you have selected the correct tags they can then be split or deleted by selecting the required option from the option box at the bottom of the page and then clicking "submit".

This page asks you to complete the following information about the group.

1. Lot No
2. Lot Date - In the format dd/mm/yyyy (e.g. 23/12/2020)
3. Lot Size - This is the head count for the Lot - NOT how many reads there are
4. Movement type - Select a movement type from the option box
5. Departure CPH - in the format cc/ppp/hhhh
6. Read Location CPH - This is the CPH of the location on which the animals were read
7. Destination CPH - in the format cc/ppp/hhhh.

Clicking on the lot date input box brings up a calendar from which the correct date can be selected.

To the right of the input boxes for the holdings is a quick select link. Clicking this link displays popup a list of abattoirs and marts from which the appropriate location can be selected. Once the details have been completed click on the submit button.

The data is then error checked if there is a problem with the data then a message popup displays, telling you what the problem is. If the lot details have been successfully recorded then you get a message "Lot successfully completed". You can then go to the "Complete lots" page to view your completed lots. If an error message is returned saying that the lot could not be completed please contact support@scoteid.com.

This page shows all your completed lots for the selected date. To change the date select a new date from the option box and then click "Select Date" button.
