Processing BCMS Incompletes
What are BCMS Incompletes?
These are part registered calves where the registration was started by BCMS and not completed. In November 2021 we were provided with a list of over 1400 incomplete registrations that had been registered on time but were not completed. The keeper often being unaware that this was the case until looking for the passport.
Since then we have processed a substantial number of BCMS Incompletes which were not on the list provided and those that were. We are working through the list of BCMS Incompletes to complete the processing of the passport applications. These were not applications sent in late.
To check if a part registered animal is an incomplete use the ‘CTS Movements’ table in the Simple Database tables - search on the animal ID and check the DoB against the received date.
To process a BCMS Incomplete
BCMS Incompletes can be processed through the Action Queue - like an amendment but triggered by an email sent to the queue rather than a scanned passport and passport entry V1 is created as no passport for a BCMS Incomplete has previously existed. Care must be taken to ensure all checks are completed as the validation against the original identification data may not have been completed.
