For Marts and Abattoirs - checking export eligibility

The Export Eligibility Checker is found on the menu on the left.

Animal product (all livestock species) from 13th December 2023 must be eligible, if it is to be exported. This is determined by the location being listed in an assurance scheme (QMS or Red Tractor) or the location must have a Vet Attestation.

A Vet Attestation is completed by a vet on a farm visit and recorded by the vet on ScotEID for that location.

Click on the Export Eligibility Lookup

This lookup is public. You are not required to be signed on to the ScotEID website to use it.

For marts and abattoirs, a move date is selected on the lookup. This differs from the public and keeper export eligibility lookup.

Use the drop down calendar to select the move date.

The move date defaults to today's date.

Using the CPH of the location, this checks QMS and Red Tractor assurance schemes and Vet Attestations.

A Vet Attestation is completed by a Vet, who must be MRCVS registered, on a visit to the location.

A Vet Attestation is recorded directly on ScotEID by the Vet. The length of the Attestation is set by the Vet and can be up to 12 months.

In this example, the CPH 66/999/4444 has been entered.

The location address of the CPH is shown below.

For this location, 'Eligible' status is returned and the animal product can be exported.

This location has been found to be listed under a member's assurance for QMS

Assurance schemes and Vet Attestations both have start and end dates. These are used by the Lookup to determine the export eligibility of the location.

In this example, the CPH 98/222/3333 is entered.

A 'Not Eligible' status is returned for this location.

This location is not included in an assurance scheme (QMS or Red Tractor) and does not have a current Vet Attestation.

Assurance schemes and Vet Attestations both have start and end dates. These are used by the Lookup to determine the export eligibility of the location.

Assurance Scheme memberships can expire and Vet Attestations are valid for up to 12 months. These must be maintained to assure export eligibility.

CPH and move date are those entered on the lookup

Eligible shows the status and the expiry date for attestations but this is not shown for assurance scheme memberships.

Details shows the assurance scheme or the Vet Attestation Number (VAN) which comprises of Vet MRCVS reg., CPH and MM/YY of end date.

The timestamp shows when the lookup was provided.

The Lookup history can be searched by each of the columns of data or by combinations of the columns.

To add another column to the search click the '+' sign.
